Schools and Education in Andalucia
It is most important to realise that there are no English language schools or colleges in the area so, if your child does not speak Spanish then they will need to learn the language while attending school. The schools and colleges do not make any special provisions or allowances for non-Spanish speaking students - it really is a case of going to school and getting on with it. Having said that, there are now quite a number of English only speaking children who have gone to school and picked up the language very quickly, although the first couple of terms at school and college can be pretty tough.
Each village has a primary/secondary school that take children up to the age of around 14 years. After that it is necessary to attend one of the two senior colleges in Huescar, which each have about 2,000 students. The colleges take students up to university age.
Children from the surrounding villages attending the colleges in Huescar are taken to and from college by bus.
