What is public transport like in Galera and the surrounding towns and villages?
T here is public transport in this area, however it is always best to check bus and train times directly with the tourist information board.

Trains
The nearest train station to Galera is at Guadix, which is approximately 1 hours drive from Galera and half an hour´s drive from Granada. From Guadix you can get trains all over Spain. The Spanish rail network is run by the state owned company RENFE.
Buses
There is a frequent service between the main towns of Andalucia and also day and overnight services from and to Madrid. The bus and coach services are operated by different private bus companies. Tickets between towns should be purchased from the bus companies ticket sales window and then the driver usually checks the tickets as passengers board. On shorter journeys or when boading between towns then the driver is normally paid directly.
From Granada there are regular buses to Baza and Galera. The buses from Granada to Murcia do stop at Galera but you should always check beforehand, for most buses from Granada you need to change at Baza as well.
